 Wagner negative, Cavaliers some positives
  by Paul Clayton

Tuesday night for DaJuan Wagner had to be a scary one. During a team scrimmage he felt a pain in his already twice repaired right knee. A pain that threatened perhaps his best start as a pro yet. That knee had already taken out large chunks of his young pro career.

Wednesday, while the organization and Wagner himself held their breath the results of his MRI were returned, negative...no damage to the ligaments, only a bruise. "This year is too important I've sat out too much. I've had too much bad luck." Wagner said.

The Cavaliers season has officially began. Despite not coming out with a win, the Cavaliers look good, and left still as healthy as they  started. That is the most important part. LeBron James was LeBron James, scoring 25 for the game and taking over in the 3rd quarter with 14 points. Jeff McInnis had 6 assists and more importantly no turnovers.

Drew Gooden in his Cavalier debut put up a very Boozerish type night with 13 points and 12 rebounds in just 25 minutes and better yet didn't allow the Grizzlies forwards to go crazy on offense as his predecessor was known to do. The sharp shooting rookie Luke Jackson threw up 8 points in limited action in the fourth quarter. Although we may not have come out with the win, this is just the preseason and there's no harm in that and we saw glimpses of what is to come.
