Bob Finnan has covered sports in Northeast Ohio since graduating from Kent State University in 1980. He has covered the Cavaliers for The News-Herald in Willoughby since 1994. Last year, he won the prestigious Blumenthal Award, signifying the top game story in 2003 in the nation by the Pro Basketball Writers Association. In 1993, he won The Associated Press' General Excellence award in the state of Ohio. Before coming to The News-Herald, Finnan was the sports editor of the Medina County Gazette where he was a beat writer with the Cleveland Browns.
